Welp, just past the halfway point of 2009 and its looking a lot better than 2008. Which was, on the whole, really, really crap.
And I mean crap.
It started off with Mum going into hospital for 3 months. Then after she recovered, being unemployed for a long stretch and my computer blowing up spectacularly. Just after posting that last post on LJ. Typical. Finding out that my brother is losing his sight. Finally getting a job, just in time so my first payday was too late for my last chance at actually getting to a LRP event. No LRP in 2008 at all.
This year, I've settled into a job that I quite enjoy... working for the Gov'ment, innit.
Eased myself back into the world of LRPing again, with a couple of LT events, and am enjoying it a lot more now that the head thrashing of my previous job has gone away, got myself a new compy, and life is looking up. Finally.
woo- bought myself a drum! really sweet sound! (according to my ears anyway, nice resonant bass sounds) Now, how to get it to the next Maelstrom? hmmm...
Oh and in other Maelstrom news, my flavoured-vodka attempt looks like someone has been badly ill into a glass pop-bottle! Thats got to be a good sign... must remember to filter it...
From the reports on Pag..Rule7 it was a cracking event, but I'm glad I stayed at home, and took the days I'd booked off work as chill-out time. I'm nicely rested (instead of shattered, like I would be at an event) and I don't feel like punching anyone at work. (although the true test is tomorrow)
Ok, so now we have 'I'm a celebrity! On a horse!', whats next?
Celebrity Croquet? (wonder if Two Jags would be up for it?) Celebrity Tiddlywinks? (too tactical for most celebrities, I fear) Celebrity Skateboarding? (actually, that could be quite funny, in a 'Z list celeb faceplants on concrete' type way) Celebrity Monster Truck Racing?

I've just realised that the next Maelstrom is at Tolmers again.. I like the site, but getting there is a fucking nightmare. And after my experiences last time, I'm not fancying the Underground in summer, it was hot and uncomfortable in September, I don't want to know what its like now...
